Azamara expands its fleet with a fourth ship
Azamara revealed that it had purchased another R-class ship and that the cruise line now has a fleet of four vessels.
"This addition, pending the close of the transaction announced earlier this month that Sycamore Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Azamara, marks our new future of growth as well as new opportunities to reach more destinations and communities than ever before," stated Carol Cabezas, Azamara Chief Operating Officer.
The new owner of Azamara, Sycamore Partners, announced that the cruise line had purchased the Pacific Princess cruise ship, just days after Princess Cruises confirmed the deal. The new addition to the fleet will be completely renovated and the ship to be renamed will sail its inaugural season to Europe in 2022.
"Sycamore Partners has purchased the Pacific Princess, a former R-class ship comparable in size to our three sister ships. Just like Azamara Journey, Azamara Quest, and Azamara Pursuit, our newest addition will be able to sail into intimate rivers, visit smaller, as well as less-crowded ports other vessels can’t access," she added.
