Busan Port Authority joins forces with Barcelona to initiate cooperative project
The Port Authority of Busan (BPA) and the Port Authority of Barcelona (ABP) have launched a cooperative project to run a logistics centre in the Port of Barcelona.
Two ports will work together to strengthen the logistics flow and provide companies operating between Northeast Asia and South Europe with a reliable logistics network.
“This project is very meaningful as the first cooperative project by two port authorities and both ports will make the utmost efforts to provide the logistics platform to Korean companies advancing in Southern Europe as well," stated Ki-chan Nam, president of Busan Port Authority.
BPA and ABP will create a Spanish joint venture to efficiently manage and run the logistics warehouse in order to ensure the project's success.
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Barcelona logistics market study was carried out in the ports of Busan and Barcelona, covering maritime traffic between the two ports and the current position of export and import companies.
