Canaveral Port Authority launches ro-ro division
The Port Canaveral vehicle manufacturing facility's formal grand opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and 730 new vehicles onboard.
The vehicle processing facility at Port Canaveral is next to a designated dock, resulting in the accelerated discharge of vehicles to the first and last rest stage.
The secure paved facility contains a climate-controlled, 20,000-square-foot vehicle distribution warehouse complete with LED lighting and lined traffic lanes.
The terminal has expected annual capacity of 100,000 vehicles with the potential to reduce to 240,000 per annum. All the big Florida and US markets Port Canaveral is within eight hours drive to the southeast.
When the previous operator's lease ended in January, Port Canaveral resumed the service of the vehicle processing facility.
Experienced vehicle handling workers have been recruited for the Port Canaveral Ro-Ro Division to ensure continuity of activity and to maintain high-quality service to existing clients.
The Port has engaged in implementing a new innovative terminal operating system to allow adaptability to any OEM device utilizing cloud-based technology.
