Castor Maritime buys 2010-built kamsarmax for $15.85 M
Nasdaq-listed Greek owner Castor Maritime has reported that for $15.85 million it has purchased a 2010-built kamsarmax.
The announcement confirms broker reports linking the company to Key Evolution Sanoyas kamsarmax, which will become the first kamsarmax in the fleet of Castor.
Before swooping last month for Imabari Senpaku's Ocean Compass, Castor was exclusively a Panamax bulker user, with six panamaxes currently on the water.
This latest addition makes a total of eight bulkers for the rapidly growing owner, and if broker reports are right, the fleet will soon grow to ten ships after Castor was connected to the 2006-built Thessaloniki and Pireas panamax pair of Chronos Shipping.
“We are very excited to announce the acquisition of our first Kamsarmax vessel. Once again, we have demonstrated our ability to expand our fleet with the addition of our 8th vessel shortly after the announcement of our previous vessel acquisition," stated Petros Panagiotidis, chief executive officer of Castor.
