"Digital Smart Ship Guidelines" set out the specifications for class ratings 'Digital Smart Ship' for ships fitted with digital technology systems such as energy efficiency analysis, hull or computer tracking, sloshing detection and prediction, on-board data processing and data transmission to shore, routing/speed management and remote monitoring/operation.

ClassNK will incorporate and update guidance in response to changing industry needs and developments in digital technology so that society can continue to support the industry's efforts to encourage and improve new technology.
