Costa Cruises receives delivery of new Costa Firenze from Fincantieri
Costa Cruises officially took delivery of Fincantieri's new Costa Firenze, planned and constructed in the shipyard of Marghera and, according to a statement, influenced by the Florentine Renaissance.
The handover occurred on Tuesday afternoon in what the cruise line called full digital mode.
The Costa Firenze, with a gross tonnage of 135,500 and a capacity of more than 5,200 guests, is part of the development plan, which involves seven new vessels to be delivered to the Costa Group by 2023, with a total investment of more than EUR 6 billion.
The Costa Firenze is the fourth of these new ships to be shipped to China, with three more to come.
“Costa Firenze is the third cruise ship we have delivered since September and we are pleased that the name of this unit recalls one of the most famous cities of art in Italy and in the world. The delivery is an important moment because it is the concrete demonstration that the company is getting back to its normal production activity," stated Giuseppe Bono, CEO of Fincantieri.
