Diana Shipping signs time charter contract with NYK Line
Diana Shipping Inc. announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, for the MV New Orleans.
The gross charter rate is US$15,500 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period from 25 January 2022 to 25 March 2022 at the latest. The charter was initiated on 3 December 2020.
As previously announced, the MV New Orleans was chartered at a gross charter rate of US$15,000 per day to Cargill International S.A., Geneva, minus a 4.75 percent fee paid to third parties.
A 180,960 dwt Capesize dry bulk vessel built in 2015 is the "New Orleans".
For the minimum projected duration of the time charter, this employment is expected to produce approximately US$6.37 million of gross revenue.
The fleet of MV Sideris GS, Diana Shipping Inc. will consist of 38 dry bulk vessels following completion of the previously announced sales of one Panamax dry bulk vessel, the MV Coronis, and one Capesize dry bulk vessel.
As of today, with a weighted average age of 10.17 years, the total carrying capacity of the company's fleet, including the m/v Coronis and the MV Sideris GS, is approximately 5.0 million dwt.
