Fire in Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal of Brazil
Brazilian miner Vale announced that an incident occurred at the Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal in São Luís, Maranhão, northeast of Brazil, involving one of its ship loaders.

According to the company, the fire brigade was triggered and the fire was extinguished without any injuries or environmental damage.
Vale said the terminal is continuing to function and will undergo an inspection of the affected site. The incident's cause is under investigation.
One of Vale's key properties, the Ponta da Madeira Maritime Terminal is one of the country's largest bulk port that can accommodate valemax vessels. The loading capacity of the terminal is approximately 230m tons per year.
