Former Carnival Cruise Line ship reaches India for scrapping
The Ocean Dream ended her seagoing career earlier this week, having sailed up on the beach in Alang, India.
A+A-
Originally, the 1982-built ship was the Tropicale of Carnival Cruise Line, sailing for Carnival until 2000 when it was transferred to the Costa brand.
Before being finally sold to Pullmantur Cruises, the Danish-built ship then transferred to P&O Cruises Australia as the Pacific Star for a short stint.
For a couple of years, Pullmantur worked the ship until chartering it to Peace Boat, where it sailed until 2019.
Established in the early 1980s, Peace Boat provides shorter cruises and has steadily expanded into month-long global voyages with the goal of raising awareness and building international ties among groups working for peace, human rights, environmental protection and sustainable development.
