It comes on the heels of a December 2017 order for two 40,000 cu m newbuildings. The new carriers are expected to arrive in the first half of 2023 and will cost $45.5 million per unit.

Although the ships will be conventionally fuelled, Evalend has negotiated with the Korean yard to ensure that they will have the option to upgrade to LPG.

Evalend first entered the LPG market six years ago, putting orders at the same shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea's southeast.
