Huntington Ingalls Industries receives $175 Million contract from US Navy
The Technical Solutions division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) was awarded a contract last week to provide US Navy aircraft carriers with repair, training and planning support.
“We are very pleased the U.S. Navy has entrusted us to support the readiness of one of our nation’s most important power projection platforms. For nearly four decades, we’ve partnered with the Navy on this critical program, and we look forward to continuing to advance our nation’s fleet sustainment for years to come," stated Garry Schwartz, president of Technical Solutions’ Defense and Federal Solutions business group.
In support of maintenance and preparation for the overhaul, modernization and reconstruction of shipboard elevators, cargo handling equipment and related systems installed within US Navy aircraft carriers, HII will provide engineering services, maintenance and operator training, as well as technical and repair services.
The work, contracted by the Naval Sea Systems Command, will be carried out in Norfolk, Va.; San Diego, Calif.; Bremerton and Everett, Wash.; Japan, and other areas of fleet concentration to be decided on board U.S. naval aircraft carriers.
