The combined value of the deals is KRW 152 billion (approximately $135 million).
At HMD and Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co, respectively, the two 40,000 cbm LPG tankers and the 40,000 ton petrochemical carrier will be installed. In the second half of 2022, all three units are scheduled for delivery. According to HMD, the petrochemical vessel contract includes one alternative.
HMD also received an order from an unidentified African company earlier this month for a 40,000 cbm LPG carrier pair. The company has won 23 LPG carrier orders since 2019, accounting for 96 per cent of global medium-sized LPG unit orders.
