Italian government will ban large cruise ships in Venice
The Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini , made an announcement regarding the issue of large cruises in cultural areas of Italy.

“I have nothing against large cruise ships but they can no longer pass where they pass today, it’s scary to see them pass near Venice. The world is watching us, UNESCO has initiated procedures: by the end of my work I want to definitively resolve the problem of passing in front of San Marco and the Giudecca in Venice,” The Italian Minister for Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Dario Franceschini has stated.
