According to health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah, the ship had arrived from Singapore and called at the Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
All four people who had been infected were asymptomatic.
“A total of 34 crew members onboard were screened on 28 August for ship signing-on and signing-off purposes and of that number, four cases were detected positive and six negative, and another 24 were awaiting results," said Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The crew members were transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital to ensure local transmission threats were not present.
In addition, disinfection and decontamination procedures are also being carried out on the ship, among other methods of prevention.
