Minerva Psara LNG carrier completes sea and gas trials
Led by Andreas Martinos, the Greek shipping company Minerva has completed sea tests and gas trials for the Minerva Psara LNG carrier.
Minerva revealed on Friday that the Minerva Psara was the first in a series of two LNG carriers currently under construction at the South Korean DSME shipyard.
The ship will be capable of transporting up to 173,400 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas and will be equipped with on-board MEGI two-stroke engines and a complete reliquidation system.
It is scheduled for delivery in January 2021, when a big LNG charterer will commence term employment.
It is worth noting that in mid-March, at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Geoje, South Korea, the company laid the keel for the Psara.
The vessel is also the first LNG carrier in a pair ordered from DSME by the company. The company has a total of five LNG carriers on order that are scheduled for delivery in 2021 and 2022.
