Mitsui OSK scraps its first and oldest LNG carrier
After 37 years with the business, Mitsui OSK (MOL) has sold its first and oldest LNG carrier, Senshu Maru, for scrapping.

“We sincerely appreciated our oldest lady who completed so many operations safely and we will continue stable energy transportation as the world leader in safety,” stated the company.
The vessel was delivered in February 1984 from Mitsui Ichihara, and sailed nearly 2m nautical miles for the Japanese owner while completing 733 voyages.
At a price of $523 per LDT, the ship was sold for green recycling in India. The portal depicts the death status of the vessel as of 26 January.
