MSC bought the ship sextet on 30 October 2020, which is technically operated by the German-based shipping company Zeaborn GmbH.

ER Texas, ER Tianping, ER Tianshan, ER Tokyo, ER Vancouver and ER Yokohama, designed in 2004 and 2006 at the Hyundai Samho and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) Ulsan shipyards in South Korea, are the boxships in question.

They were bought in a $156 million en-block deal.

The six vessels were part of the fleet of ER Schiffahrt. In 2018, under one roof, Zeaborn purchased 100 percent of ER Schiffahrt 's shares and combined ship management operations from ER Schiffahrt and Rickmers Shipmanagement.
