Princess Cruises cancels Santa Barbara visit
Princess Cruises announced the postponement of its Grand Princess cruise expected to visit Santa Barbara.
Bowing to a storm of public concern combined with a tidal wave of common sense, the Princess Cruises company stated that on March 24 the Grand Princess cruise ship will not stop in Santa Barbara as previously planned, nor will its 3,500 passengers disembark in our town anytime soon.
Actually the cruise ship carries at least 21 coronavirus-infected passengers.
To ensure health of the citizens, the city will contact other cruise lines to request that their planned cruise visits to Santa Barbara be cancelled, until the United States. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) takes off their cruise ship travel advisory.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is urging travelers to delay cruise ship travel, especially those with underlying health concerns. Recent coronavirus studies on cruise ships illustrate the possibility of cruise ship passengers and crew being contaminated.
