Royal Caribbean to prepare ships to help its crew
Royal Caribbean Cruises, according to a source mailer with the plans, has come up with a dynamic plan to bring crew home, including the Spectrum, Ovation Radiance and Voyager as well as the Celebrity Solstice.
The Spectrum will take on the Radiance crew, and then sail to Bali, Manila and Shanghai where the crew will sign off as required.
The company arranges charter flights to India for Indian workers, who can sign off on April 16 in Bali.
The Celebrity Solstice crew will be transferred to Ovation and Voyager. The Ovation then heads to Bali for a mid-April call for the crew to disembark.
The Voyager will also receive crew, and is scheduled to sail to Manila for a call to disembark passengers in late April.
The company works closely with port agents to understand restrictions and is developing a strategy for secure tendering between ships.
The Voyager's tenders will take 120 crew per flight, while the Ovation and Spectrum have a greater capacity for tendering at 180 passengers.
