Although cruise traffic was one of the most affected during the health crisis, Barcelona Cruise Port (a company that manages five cruise terminals in the Port of Barcelona, belonging to Global Ports) worked in collaboration with the Port Authority of Barcelona to implement the sanitary measures that guarantee the safety of ships, crew and passengers.
This distinction will very positively position Barcelona by regaining the trust of the cruise lines when cruise ship operations resume in the future.
Barcelona Cruise Port also received the standard stamp "Responsible Tourism," issued by the Government of Spain's Ministry of Business, Commerce and Tourism, which acknowledges the implementation of the guidelines and recommendations found in the contagion reduction assessment guides approved by the Ministry of Health.
That includes service requirements, sanitation and disinfection, maintenance and risk management for various tourism industry subsectors.
This certification, which must be renewed each year, acknowledges the company's duty and commitment to create a healthy atmosphere that creates trust and protection for tourism-related companies and their customers.
