Wison Offshore & Marine held a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off its yard's RMB1.43bn ($211 m) upgrade to stretch its current dry dock to 370 m by 68 m, as well as to expand all its other facilities.
After the project is completed in 2022, up to five floating natural gas liquefaction units per year as well as LNG carriers, floating storage regasification and power generation barges will be managed by the Wison Nantong yard, alleviating what the company acknowledged was a "bottleneck" in its production capabilities in the light of pent-up demand for gas infrastructure.
