The two ships were named YM Celebrity and YM Continent on May 20, at the Kaohsiung shipyard of CSBC.
The two ships are part of a group of ten 2,800 TEU container vessels constructed at CSBC shipyard that are scheduled to be shipped and added in the second quarter of 2021 to Yang Ming 's fleet from this can.
The ships are designed to travel at speeds of up to 21 knots with a length of 209.75 metres, a width of 32.8 metres, a draft of 11.2 metres.
The new vessels are adopting Sea Sword Bow energy-saving technology and the Full Spade Rubber design to deliver greater operational efficiency and eco-friendly benefits.
The newbuildings are equipped with a Total Watch System (Radar / Chart radar / ECDIS / Conning / Route planning multifunction workstation) to allow safer and more efficient navigation.
The new 2,800 TEU vessels are designed to call major Asian ports and will operate in Intra-Asian services of Yang Ming.
The new ships will incorporate equipment for low fuel consumption which will replace older or chartered-in ships.
YM Celebrity and YM Continent will be introduced to the JTS service offered by Yang Ming and will provide effective delivery.
