France LNG Shipping is a joint venture founded by Japanese shipping giant NYK and Geogas LNG, a firm owned by LPG shipper Geogas and European ACP and DIF infrastructure funds.
According to a NYK statement Monday, South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipped the vessel on 15 May.
In 2018 NYK signed the charter contract with EDF's LNG shipping unit for the 174,000-cubic meter capacity vessel.
The 297 meter long vessel called Elisa Larus will carry chilled fuel for up to 20 years for EDF LNG Shipping.
The LNG carrier includes membrane-type cargo tanks fitted with GTT 's Mark III Flex cargo containment system and slow-speed dual-fuel engine propulsion from WinGD.
Furthermore, the vessel, classified by Bureau Veritas, has been awarded the cyber security notation of the French classification society, which according to NYK is the first such recognition of a cyber notation for an LNG carrier.
