Germany's United Product Tankers appoints new managing director

United Product Tankers (UPT), a German tanker operator, has appointed Matthias Schoeller as co-managing director, succeeding Stefan Ciegelski, who has chosen to step down after 17 years at the helm.

Schoeller had been the company's chartering manager for the previous ten years prior to his promotion.

Schoeller will collaborate with Christos Matarangas, the company's co-managing director for more than a decade. UPT is a commercial and pool builder of convenient, MR, and LR1/panamax product tankers.

“With the amazing team in UPT, with our knowledge and experience, with our loyal and supportive customers and stakeholders, I firmly believe in a very bright future for the company,” Schoeller said.
