HHI will develop three of these LNG carriers, two on behalf of an Asian shipowner and one on behalf of a European shipowner. On behalf of a European shipowner, the last LNG carrier will be constructed by HSHI.
Each vessel will deliver 174,000 cubic meters of space. GTT will build the vessel tanks that will be equipped with the Mark III Flex containment system for the membrane.
The launch of the ships is expected for the third and fourth quarters of 2024.
Philippe Berterottière, GTT Chairman and CEO, said the Hyundai Group's new order brings the total number of LNG carriers ordered by GTT this year to 41.
