Early this month, when four cases of the virus were confirmed, the yard declared a temporary halt to operations. As the cluster expanded to 91 individuals associated with the yard testing positive, the closure was extended.
“For the vessels that are being outfitted at the yard it is foreseeable that the closure will lead to delay in deliveries, where NHST will continue the work of mapping the consequences and eventual measures that can be implemented to make up for the lost production time,” the company announced.
Havyard says October 12 was the last case of infection, and local authorities have given permission to reopen the yard today.
