Under the contract, Korea Shipbuilding's shipbuilding unit Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. will begin building the 50,000-ton ships in November and deliver them to the buyers in the second half of 2021, Korea Shipbuilding said in an e-mailed statement.
The deal has the option of building two more PC carriers.
Korea Shipbuilding has won orders so far this year to create a total of 22 PC carriers including the latest contract.
Newly formed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Korea Shipbuilding is the sub-holding company of Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings Co. and has three shipbuilders under its umbrella — Hyundai Heavy, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co.
