Minerva Psara is the first in a series of two LNG carriers currently under construction at the South Korean DSME shipyard.
On Monday, the shipper said the second vessel is expected to be delivered within 2021. Up to 173,400 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas can be transported by a tanker.
The vessel also features two-stroke ME-GI engines and a complete on-board reliquefaction system. The company added that with a big LNG charterer, the vessel has already commenced its term employment.
It is notable that at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Geoje, South Korea, the company laid the keel for the Psara in mid-March 2020.
At the end of December last year, the vessel conducted sea and gas trials.
The company has a total of five LNG carriers on order that are scheduled for delivery in 2021 and 2022.
