MSC Grandiosa resumes its Mediterranean program after short pause

The MSC Grandiosa is cruising again, having left the port of Genoa in Italy last night to resume, as scheduled, routine seven-night cruises in the Mediterranean after a brief interruption of operations during the holiday season.

According to a press release, the ship had temporarily suspended its sailing as a result of an Italian government decree that limited movement within the country.

In August 2020, the MSC Grandiosa first welcomed guests back on board and feedback from the more than 30,000 guests who have sailed on board so far has been highly positive, so that some guests have chosen to extend their stay on board by one or more weeks, the company said, as the ship operates under a set of modern and stringent guidelines on health and safety.

The protocol, specific to the hospitality industry and approved by national authorities in Italy, Greece and Malta, is used as a basis for informing and endorsing proposals to resume cruising in other parts of the world.
