The BWTS-equipped vessel, NS United Kaiun Kaisha's United Breeze, is expected to arrive at the end of April, according to brokers. The ship will be renamed Hellasship by Seanergy.
Seanergy has also obtained a $15.5 million loan from a European bank, which is secured by two capes, and says it is in talks with other major financial institutions for additional funding.
“We are pleased to announce the agreement to acquire our 15th capesize vessel, which will expand our fleet by 50% within the last 9 months,” said Stamatis Tsantanis, chairman and CEO of Seanergy.
All of our recent acquisitions were well-timed, given the dramatically improved market conditions, demonstrating our status as a leading pure-play capesize firm.
Seanergy spent $55 million earlier this month on the purchase of two capes.
