The overall value of the contract is approximately $1.7 billion, and the scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of various natural gas production and transportation offshore facilities, including platforms, support and connection structures, subsea cables, and internally clad pipelines for anti-corrosion.
In addition, the project includes the decommissioning of a pipeline and other major changes to existing offshore structures.
The De He pipelay vessel will carry out the pipe laying and lifting operations.
“Saipem is well positioned and actively executing various contracts in Qatar, a key market for us with several offshore investments expected to progress in the near future," said Stefano Porcari, Saipem E&C Offshore Division COO.
Furthermore, Saipem has obtained from Qatargas a letter of intent for the contractual package concerning the North Field Production Sustainability Pipelines Project's offshore export pipelines and related onshore works.
