Cargo flows are transported by sea and by train, i.e. by trucks and rail wagons-since 13 March 20 300 units of road transport and 6 300 units of rail wagons have been used for the receiving and delivery of cargo at the Port of Riga.
At the same time, a new form of cargo has arrived at the Port of Riga this month amid the current difficulties in the sector-since March the "KS Terminal" has begun transshipment of bulk cement. On March 26, for the second time, the specialized vessel "Greenland" carrying bulk cement cargo called Riga port.
Since the bulk cement is handled onboard closed automated handling equipment in an environmentally safe mode, preventing dust from reaching the atmosphere. Additionally, the vessel is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), making it even more environmentally friendly.
