Sefine Shipyard to build two large live fish carriers for DESS Aqua

DESS Aquaculture Shipping announced that the company ordered two large live fish carriers with a well capacity of 6000m3 and dual-fuel engines which can utilize LNG, biogas and potentially ammonia in the future.

The vessels will be built at Sefine Shipyard - Turkiye in Turkey and will be the 7th and 8th vessel delivered from Sefine to DESS Aqua.

In close collaboration with DESS Aqua, Mowi and MMC First Process AS, the vessels are built by Salt Ship Design AS with the objective of constructing the next generation of well boats.

"The result is a modern vessel that meets the customer's strict requirements for fish welfare, biosafety and efficient operations in the form of high flexibility," DESS Aqua said in a statement.

The vessels will be equipped with a freshwater manufacturing plant that can produce up to 6000 m3 per day and has available space on the wide deck area to install different types of de-lice equipment.
