Total becomes strategic partner of Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center

The Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping has joined French energy major Total as a strategic partner as the organization accelerates its R&D program for carbon-neutral shipping solutions.

Based in Copenhagen, the Research and Development Center is a private initiative to encourage and contribute to the decarbonisation of the maritime industry, launched with the help of the AP MøllerFoundation.

The partnership will allow Total to jointly develop new low-carbon alternative fuels and carbon neutrality solutions with leading players across the shipping sector.

As a member of the advisory board, the objective of Total will be to provide strategic and technical input for the development of the activities of the center.

“We are very proud of this new cooperation, in line with our ClimateAmbition to get tto Net Zero by 2050.  The Center will pave the way towards a greener shipping for the benefit of the whole industry as well as for our own chartering activities,” stated Luc Gillet, Senior Vice President Shipping, Total Trading & Shipping.
