“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives and extensive damage caused by floods and landslides due to typhoon Hagibis in Japan,” Turkish Foreign Ministry said in their last statement.
Turkey extended their condolences to the relatives of those who lost their lives as well as to the people of Japan and wish speedy recovery to the injured.
According to statement of NHK, four people died in Chiba, Gunma, Kanagawa and Fukushima prefectures surrounding Tokyo. Among them was a man in his 60s who was found with no vital signs in a flooded apartment in Kawasaki. Seventeen were missing early Sunday, it has been said. 100 injuries have been reported until today, while more than 270,000 households lost power, NHK stated.
Typhoon Hagibis was expected to head out to sea once it turned its way up the northeastern coast and the northern island of Hokkaido.
