In particular, because of the pandemic, seafarers have been advised to socially isolate themselves and remain in their quarters to prevent the possible spread of the virus while completing their work.

As they are cautioned against socializing, this has impacted their social life and mental health, especially taking into account the extended times at sea they have had to experience due to the crew shift crisis.
