Star Cruises starts its operations in May
Genting Cruise Lines has announced plans to restart cruises in Penang with Star Cruises, offering Langkawi itineraries on Star Cruises' Star Pisces starting May 13, 2021, the start of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Holidays.
The Star Pisces will be the first ship in Malaysia to resume sailings, and one of only a few in the world, helping to improve tourism in Penang and Pulau Langkawi.
All activities onboard will be organized in accordance with approved group sizes – unique to each operation – in accordance with the prevailing national policy, and measures will be in place to prevent close interaction between groups, initially operating at a reduced capacity.
Genting Cruise Lines, which owns Star, has already relaunched Dream Cruises in Asia.
The business was the first cruise line to resume service in Asia, having completed nine months of incident-free operations in Taiwan with Dream Cruises' Explorer Dream and five months in Singapore with World Dream, welcoming more than 150,000 passengers.
Also recently reported, the Crystal Serenity will become the first ship to homeport in The Bahamas, as well as the first ocean ship to sail from the Americas, with her latest Bahamas Escapes cruises starting July 3.
