The company's board of directors approved the order for a 5,000 cbm vessel on 30 October 2020. As announced, the LPG carrier will be constructed in Japan by Murakami Hide Shipbuilding.
For the new vessel, Wisdom Marine will pay JPY 1.88 billion ($17.9 million).
The shipping firm embarked on a cash-raising mission earlier this year, with the goal of collecting $63.8 million. It will use the funds for expected ship acquisitions, Wisdom said.
The fleet of Wisdom Marine contains more than 130 boats, the majority of which are bulkers. One LPG carrier, Joseph Wisdom, founded at Murakami Hide in 2018, is owned by the company.
