The Port of Sète becomes a smart port
The Port of Sète and its people are taking a new step towards being a smart harbor of the future on Thursday, July 2.
Following a call for tenders to update its electronic Cargo Community System (CCS) launched in November 2019, MGI's Ci5 package for digital goods flow management was selected by Port of Sète. The resulting 5-year deal renews the long-term relationship between Port of Sète and MGI.
This creative management system update is completely associated with the strategic project decided by the Port Sud de France board unanimously in December 2019, chaired by Jean-Claude Gayssot.
A big phase in the innovation strategy of the leading port of southern central France providing an important response to future emerging and environmental challenges.
The system deployed in 2012 will be replaced by Ci5 over the next few months.
The new platform will help users meet port requirements for all goods handled at the Port of Sète, including containers, trucks, bulk, livestock and so on, and will be operational this fall.
All shipping agents and consignors, freight forwarders, distribution companies, terminal operators, customs officials and port authority staff will be supported to support them during the installation and implementation of the new network, ensuring continuity of service without interruption.
“I am thrilled that the Port of Sète community, a long-standing MGI partner, is joining the Ci5 club. Everyone at MGI is proud of this long-term renewed commitment to a faster and more efficient port,” says Rémi Julien, President of the MGI Executive Board.
