UZMAR signed a contract with SAAM Towage El Salvador
SAAM Towage El Salvador S.A. has signed a contract with UZMAR Shipyard to purchase two 32 mt ASD RAstar 3200W newbuild concept escort tugs.
The new RAstar 3200W azimuth tugs built by UZMAR are 32 meters long, specially designed to meet the requirements of offshore operations with a bollard pull of + 75 tonnes and a speed of + 12.5 knots.
From 2021 the vessels will supply services for the LNG project being built in El Salvador by Energía del Pacífico (EDP).
Robert Allan Ltd. has completed the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) review of the RAstar 3200W concept tug to provide enormous steering and braking forces during escort operations.
In early 2019 UZMAR has already supplied SAAM Towage CANADA Inc. with a RAstar 3200W design named SAAM Tsimshian Warrior, Canada's first IMO TIER III certified tug. Today at AltaGas Terminal, Canada, SAAM Tsimshian Warrior is performing her task successfully.
The RAstar 3200W designs are powered by CAT main engines and classified by BV for feature notations;
