Vroon Offshore Services disposes three vessels of its fleet
As part of the right-sizing of its PSV fleet, Dutch shipowner Vroon's offshore arm, Vroon Offshore Services, has disposed of three platform support vessels.
VOS Power, VOS Producer and VOS Prominence, constructed between 2006 and 2007, entered Vroon on shipyard delivery and were mainly engaged in operations in the North Sea. The vessels were laid out in The Netherlands late.
At the end of this month, the vessels will be transported to a specialized Dutch ship recycling plant, where they will be dismantled in complete compliance with both EU / national legislation and all relevant international regulations.
Vroon has a substantial offshore fleet with 17 PSVs.
“Although kept well maintained and in excellent technical condition throughout this period, the recent downturn in offshore oil & gas markets and continuing negative employment outlook resulted in a recent decision to divest the units,” Vroon stated.
